Pardes Announces Partnership with Brandeis University’s Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program

Jerusalem, July 17, 2024 – Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, an open, inclusive, diverse, and intellectually challenging Jewish learning community based in Jerusalem with programs worldwide, today announced a partnership with Brandeis University’s Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program and Brandeis Online. The partnership broadens the learning opportunities and skill development for Pardes students.

“We are proud and honored to partner with Brandeis University to offer our PEEP students a discount on all Brandeis online graduate programs,” said Aviva Lauer of Pardes. “This partnership, particularly with the Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program, enables our students to engage both in Jewish literacy and experiential education pedagogy, and gain practical skills from the Hornstein program, including fundraising, budgeting, combating antisemitism, and more. Jewish leaders and educators need a range of skills to innovate, engage their learners, and shape a vibrant Jewish future–this partnership helps to do exactly that.”

The Hornstein’s online certificate  is unique through it’s asynchronous learning model, allowing students to build critical leadership skills and lasting relationships with the Jewish professional community from any location.. The certificate curriculum includes four courses for 12 credits and is fully online. The courses include Organizational Behavior in Jewish Nonprofits, Human Resource Management in Jewish Nonprofits, Confronting Contemporary Antisemitism, and Skills & Techniques in Jewish Fundraising & Philanthropy.

With the online master’s certificate in Jewish Professional Leadership, our students become proficient problem-solvers with expertise in a range of areas,” said Fern Chertok, Interim Director at the Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership program.  “Throughout the program, Pardes’ PEEP students can access the unique combination of Hornstein’s integrated academic curriculum plus opportunities to build community through enriching connections within their cohort.”

This is one of two new partnerships for Pardes, which also recently established a partnership with Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Uniquely, Pardes stayed open for learning immediately after October 7th, and recently expanded its offerings to undergraduates as well.

“We believe deeply that Jewish learning is critical to creating a vibrant Jewish future,” adds Aviva of Pardes. “These partnerships enable our learners to engage in myriad ways with their education and to grow as leaders and Jews.”
